Goal: 2 Posts a Day Around the idano Blog Network
That is my goal – 2 posts a day around the idano Blog Network.
So far I have been doing pretty good although yesterday I only did one real post but then did a pretty extensive "About Me" page over at my personal site – Dan Masters Online. That is my new personal blog and I have been doing the majority of my work/posts over there.
Along with the updated About Me page I also added my feed to the aggregated feed for all of the blogs in the idano Blog Network so it can it can be automatically listed here and so it can get some traction in the search engines. It is coming along and it is nice to have a place where I can blog about whatever I want.
There is plenty of work to do around the rest of the network but I am ramping up slowly.

Caught in the Mud of Getting Organized
Ugh. I have slacked off on blogging around the network for so long now that things are in such disarray that I cannot simply sit down and blog when I get inspired. There are so many updates, re-orgs, and general maintenance that now I have to do 12 things in order just to do a single post done.
Today, I finally broke down and blogged here because the other post that I wanted to do about some new headphones I bought had to be put on hold. This was due to the fact that I didn’t have a blog to appropriately post to (normally I would do it here). Oh well, these are pains of growing I guess.
On a separate note I have decided that the layout of this site is going to change somewhat. The blog that resides here is actually going to become secondary to the aggregated posts from the network. So basically the latest post and a blurb from it will be the post that you see front and center and the latest post from this blog will be in the sidebar. The idea here is that I am trying to push the content from the other sites from here so they need the spot light. The perils of running this monstrosity are secondary to what is going on out there in the real world.

New Definition for the idano.net Blog – A Blog Network Portal
This is not the first time that I written a post with this same basic theme. I have changed the purpose of this website more times then I can remember. Really this domain name is the one that started it all for me. It was my first personal website that I had. Over time it was gone through several different variations and purposes but I think it has finally landed on its true purpose in life – A rollup for all the the rest on my sites.
Yep, as of today the idano Blog Network is born. This website will now be the portal to all the rest of the websites and blogs that both my wife and I manage which we are now giving the title of a “Network”. The idea here is that through this website a visitor may be able to discover other sites that are apart of our network.
I will blog here about updates to and around the network and hopefully give some good advise and insite into the world of blogging that will be helpful to others. I have definitely gained some expereince in the last couple of year blogging and I am more then willing to share the knowledge I have gained.
At this time we are not accepting other sites or authors into our network but that could definately change in the future.
Look for more updates to the site and the network in the days and weeks to come!
Updates and Refresh of Site
Well as you can see things are looking pretty different around here. It has been a while since I posted and/or did any maintenance around here but the day has finally come to clean this place up.
I have a new theme up named YoMel by andrastudio that I will be making modifications to over the next few days. The biggest change will be the color (I like blue) and I am going to aggregate feeds from the rest of my sites in the side bar.
Anyway, I am still around and kicking so you should see new and improved things popping up here and there from now on.
My First $100 Month From Adsense
Wow, it only took me over a year but I finally made to the $100 mark for the month for Adsense. While this may not understand the significance of the $100 mark $100 is how much you need to reach for Google to pay you. I have been doing about $75-80 for the last 8 months getting a check every other month so for me this cool.
The downside to this is that it is most likely because of the Christmas rush so I expect it to drop back off after the first of the year.
I reality this month’s $100 is only a drop in the bucket in comparison to the money that I have made from Amazon this month. As of yesterday I have pulled in $1024 for this month. All of that money from advertising a couple of Helicopters.
My usual average every month from Amazon is about $150 so this jump has been real nice

I Have Removed Digg From my Google Reader
Google Reader just refuses to render pages from Digg correctly so I have had to remove it from my subscription list. The Mobile version of Digg work just fine.
It really bums me that this has gone unnoticed by Google for so long. I like using Google reader for Digg content because it would just give me a basic text and images instead of trying to reader the original site’s entire page.
Oh well, hopefully they will fix it someday…

idano.net is Now iPhone Friendly
I have installed the iWPhone plugin on this site which will automatically reformat this blog for the iPhone. So now you can load up idano.net quickly and formatted properly.

FREE Music from Spiral Frog – Maybe I Won’t Sell My Sansa MP3 Player After All
While browsing digg.com this morning I came across a post about Spiral Frog and how you can download free – ad supported – music from then. I decided to give it a try.
Signing up was simple and true enough – it is completely free. I searched for Hey There Dahlia and found it and downloaded it. Amazingly enough I was able to play it on my computer.
Looking at the FAQ’s it says that you can transfer the music over to 2 different MP3 Player that support the Play for Sure protocol. There is no Mac or iPod/iPhone support.
Since I just got an iPhone you would think this would be a big deal but it isn’t. See I still have my Sandisk Sansa e250 that I have had up on Craig’s list for a month that nobody has bought. That sucker is all about Play for Sure so it will work with these tracks.
The only issue I see (other then no Mac support) is that the site seems to be getting slammed right now because a lot of the pages are coming up 404 – Page not found. Oh well I am patient – especially for free music!
UPDATE: I found what is an apparent work-around for all of the 404 messages – go to the songs portion for the artist and then download each song individually. I know it sucks but it is free.

Page Rank 6 – What Can I Do With It?
So here I am with this blog that has a smokin’ Page Rank 6 from Google. I know, I know, people say that page rank does not mean anything. OK, OK, sure buddy, all I know is that I get more money from Text Link Ads for page rank 6 sites then I do for 4 and 5 sites.
I have those kinds of sites and I am making a nice chunk of money on them. But this site – my jewel in the rough – I only have 1 link sold while sometimes on my other sites I will have 11 of 10 links sold (not sure how that happens but I like it
). I guess I shouldn’t complain too much though, I am making $50/month on this site off the one link and a couple of links that are on specific articles.
The thing that gets to me though is that my other PR 6 site – The Beach House WordPress Theme site – is making $254 this month – AND I NEVER POST THERE. Whinnying, yes I know. I just like money, so sue me.
Anyway, as mentioned a few posts down this blog is homeless again (themeless actually) and I am not quite sure what to do with it.
A senseless post brought to you on an identity stricken blog.
