Mindcomet Web Design Interactive Agency

mindcomet_logo.jpgI have across one of the nicest and best laid out Web Design Company web sites that I have seen in a long time – Mindcomet.

They label themselves as an which I think is very appropriate based on the presentation of their web site.

You can tell that they are very professional by the content, layout, and use of different technologies on their site. Their use of flash video on the front page is one of the best implementations that I have seen. It loads quick and is non-intrusive. A lot of design companies are in your face with this type of technology trying to show off – Mindcomet uses it in context.

Free Flash Tutorial Make Learning Flash a Breeze

I have know about this web site for a while and finally figured that I would share it.

It used to have a really nice flash video play where you could watch the videos but from the message on the page I guess there are some bandwidth issues with doing this.

This site has really helped my with the few flash projects that I have had.

Over 2000 Downloads of the Beach House WordPress Theme

563-medium.jpgWOW! I had checked the last part of last week to see how many downloads the Beach House WordPress Theme had gotten and it was at 1991.

I checked back today it it blew past the 2000 download mark. At writing it is at 2093.

I just wanted to say thank you to everyone that has download it and is using it. I plan to add widget support in the near future one my plate clears a little.

Also, if you like the Beach House theme and know PhotoShop check out my Sunflower WordPress Theme which is based off of the Beach House theme. The thing about the Sunflower theme is that I have made the PhotoShop files available so that you can customize it for you blog.

The Sunflower WordPress Theme

screenshot.pngI have released a new theme that is similar to my Beach House theme.

It is called The Sunflower theme and can be downloaded over at it’s own sub domain at my
Round Rock Web Design web site – sunflower.roundrockwebdesign.com.

The inspiration for this theme was my wife who really likes flowers – specifically sunflowers.

I have also made available the PhotoShop files that I used to create the theme so people can modify it themselves.

Snake on a Day – Custom WordPress Theme

logo-big.jpgI was checking out the local Craig’s List postings because I am going to be ramping up on doing web design again when I came across someone asking for some free help with a WordPress theme.

It seems that these guys are going to be watching Snake on a Plane for 24 hours straight and then doing a documentary on it. I am going to spruce up their blog for them and thus get some publicity myself. As you can see I have changed the logo to reflect their cause (it still needs a little cleanup).

Lifehacker 2.0 Redesign – Was this the Best Way to Roll Out?

lifehacker.jpgIn was checking my RSS feeds this morning I noticed that Lifehacker has redesigned their web site.

My first impression of the new design was that it was nice – it looked freshened up and modern. The only thing that I would change is that I would have the ads on the left line up with the other sidebar content one way or another, but other then that it is cool.

I seem to be the minority though.

Jodo Host – The Difference is Night and Day

I really have to give the guys at Jodo Host props for their Technical Support.

I switched this site and my dan.idano.net site last week to their hosting and everything was fine. But then yesterday it was taking forever for pages to load if they would load at all.

Formating Fix for the Subscribe to Comments Plug-in

I found a temporary fix for the formatting for the Subscribe to Comments WordPress Plug-in.

I was forced into fixing it because I was trying to implement the plug-in on another web site and the formatting was broken there too.

You need to open the subscribe-to-comments.php file and go to line 36.
