idano.net vs Google – Slowly Coming Back

Posted on April 19, 2006

Well things are starting to look better for idano.net

In checking again today 1 additional page was added to Google’s directory. The page was my review of the idano.net web site.

The good thing about this is that it is a newer page then what was indexed before.

The index page is still the old one from April 1st.

It is obvious that Google has been having some issues. I hope all those who are trying to make money from their sites can weather the changes.

idano.net back on Google – kind of

Posted on April 18, 2006

In my last post – idano.net disappears from Google – I started out by saying that I was not going to freak out too much – but I kind of did.

As I did more research I found this post over at WebProWorld that was talking about an update that Google did a couple of months ago that knocked out several people’s sites.

I even got a comment from Martin Galloway where his site also completely disappeared. The difference between Martin’s site and this one is that he relies on revenue from his site and I do not.

So this freaking out had me checking at every opportunity to see if my site was back up.

idano.net disappears from Google

Posted on April 17, 2006

I am not going to freak out too much about this but idano.net has disappeared from Google – kind of.

I have been checking which pages are indexed (site:idano.net) on a regular basis lately because this site has an all new structure and layout. As of yesterday Google’s cache had my Zoundry review at the top of the home page with my old theme so it was still a little behind.

Also I was #1 in Google for “WordPress desktop” yesterday.

Well when I checked today which pages Google had it only had the pages from when this was my family web site come up. This possibly (fingers crossed) could be a good sign. It could mean that Google has realized that it is really behind and has hiccuped (I have seen this before in the past).

themastersfamily.net – Page Rank 4

Posted on April 6, 2006

In an amazing turn of events themastersfamily.net web site has a page rank of 4 all of a sudden. The reason why this is amazing is that it has had a page rank of 0 since a few days ago and the site only about 4 months old (no more then 6 months).

In a quick query to Google to see the pages indexed, Google shows about 60 pages all indexed with the correct permalink structure that I setup about 2 months ago -

/%category%/%postname%/

While it is cool to have this page rank it is also in a sense sad.

Round Rock Web Design on Google

Posted on April 3, 2006

Well it only took 12 days but Round Rock Web Design is now listed on Google.

I did not find it in the first 10 pages when searching without quotes but a search with quotes brings it up at number 52 for “Round Rock Web Design”.

It has slipped to # 17 in Yahoo and is #1 at MSN with and without quotes.

When I get the time I am going to get an account at cafepress.com and make up some calendars and coffee mugs and then link from the product descriptions boost it’s page rank (cafepress.com is page rank 9!).

The other thing I am going to do is write a few SEO specific articles on the site to build more content.

More updates to come as they happen!

roundrockwebdesign.com

Posted on March 30, 2006

Here is another web site that I have recently put up.

The idea behind the site is that there is not one local company that comes up in the top 10 of Google search result for “Round Rock Web Design”. Luckily, the domain name roundrockwebdesign.com was available so I registered it.

So basically this has become my latest SEO test. I wanted to see if and how long it would take me to get to at least the top 10 in Google. I purchased the domain name and designed the site on March 23rd, it was indexed by Google within 2 days. Unfortunately, even though it seems to be getting hit by Google daily it is still not listed in search results.

But that is Google.
