MindComet Generation Y Marketing Blog

Posted on August 15, 2006

genvoodoo.JPGI came across a blog today that is specific to marketing to (that is generation Y which is obviously after generation X).

They have some interesting posts including one outlining the frustrations that employers are having with the Y generation.

Specifically, they stated home the Gen Y grads are expecting to get out of school and climb to the corporate latter right away. They also stated how Gen Y folks are more into getting a lot of different experience in different areas instead of staying somewhere and getting rooted and grounded.

I have to admit that I get caught up in those feeling sometimes myself but a good dose of reality from my wife gets my back in line ;-) .

It is a really good blog for research especially if you are in marketing. I suggest you check it out.

My first impression of the new design was that it was nice – it looked freshened up and modern. The only thing that I would change is that I would have the ads on the left line up with the other sidebar content one way or another, but other then that it is cool.

I seem to be the minority though.

Vip-Hosting Problems

Posted on June 18, 2006

I have tried to hold off as log as I could to try and not post about the terrible service that I receive from VIP-Hosting. Unfortunately it has come to a boiling point now.

Today, again, my hosting is down along with e-mail access. When calling Vip’s technical support I was told that a switch was down and they were replacing it. At the writing of this post that was an hour ago.

I guess I should consider myself fortunate that I was even able to talk with a support person. Most of the time when the hosting goes down you get “We are having a lot of calls right, please leave a message”.
